Designing for impact with the Red Cross

HCP and patient engagement

The client’s challenge

The Red Cross needed simple, engaging design solutions to support two initiatives: a “Hyggevogn” activity wagon for nursing homes in Copenhagen, and FriRum, a volunteer-led programme helping men transition from crisis shelters to independent living. Both called for clear, recognisable tools to increase participation and visibility.

The &Robin approach

For the Hyggevogn, we created a colourful system to categorise activities, along with flyers and a flag to make the cart stand out. For FriRum, we developed a visual identity — logo, colour scheme, and visual language — designed to feel safe and welcoming. The identity was rolled out across flyers and merchandise to make the initiative more visible.

Outcome

Both initiatives are now easy to recognise, engage with, and sustain. In nursing homes, the Hyggevogn adds colour and clarity to daily life, while FriRum has an identity that brings visibility to a new kind of volunteer support for men after crisis. For us at &Robin, projects like these matter because they let us use our skills where they can make a real difference in people’s lives. This is why we commit part of our time to community projects and collaborations with NGOs and non-profits.
